2011 Old Oak Red is classic Bordeaux style wine. It was hand crafted using grapes from the Linde and J. Rickards Vineyards in Alexander Valley, Sonoma County, CA. This wine is a blend of 68% Merlot, 17% Petit Verdot and 15% Cabernet Sauvignon. Merlot gives soft, ripe fruit, Cabernet Sauvignon provides backbone and Petit Verdot wraps in tannin and color. It was finished in oak barrels, which gives the wine a touch of oak, and brings forth flavors such as cherry, cassis and vanilla. Excellent as a before dinner cocktail or with roasted meats and robust soft cheeses. Enjoy!
